The Complete Anthology

of British Film & Television Actors

INTRODUCTION BY SIR MICHAEL CAINE, C.B.E.

The most requested type of information in the entertainment world concerns CREDITS.

The public has always had a fascination and curiosity concerning those individuals who perform in and direct motion pictures and television shows.  The lack of comprehensive, accurate, and up-to-date information, acknowledging those talented British artists who were involved, was the inspiration of author and editor Scott Palmer, who for 30 years has tabulated and distilled thousands of motion pictures and television programmes, extracting actors and directors in which they participated.  He noted that so many reference books were out-of-date and missing key information.

Now, for the first time, researchers, casting directors, agents, journalists, and movie and TV lovers around the world will be able to access credits on British stars, character actors, small-part performers and directors dating from 1895 to the present, listed in convenient alphabetical order.

Through years of painstaking research, Scott Palmer has assembled a treasure trove of information the likes of which has never been seen before.  He has personally met with, spoken to, and written to literally thousands of performers, thereby getting the information from the people themselves to insure the completeness and accuracy of their film and television histories.  He has also visited public records offices in England and elsewhere to verify correct dates.

There will be an annual edition of this encyclopedia bringing the credits up to date, and this will be supplemented by a companion website so the reader will always have the latest information on hand.
